This is actually my first retrograde season where I’ve chosen to dive this deep. Really sit with the archetypes, the energies, and the unpredictable, delicious chaos of it all.
And this one? With all the sign-jumping, overlaps, and shadows? It’s not just intense…it’s juicy as hell. Unpredictable. Exciting. Potent.
A retrograde season overflowing with personal breakthrough, awakening, healing, empowerment. All the things you secretly crave but usually try to avoid because… well, they’re messy.
But here’s the thing.
When you really zoom out?
This retrograde portal could actually set you up for the next 10–30 years of your life.
Yes. That big.
So maybe it’s worth a second glance at what the fuck is happening?! Because there is going to be something here that changes the very essence of you.
So here we go. Planet by planet. Raw, real, felt deeply and written in my own words. Intuitive downloads from spirit to page, plus what the textbooks have to say about it all.
🖤 Pluto Retrograde: Descent for Empowerment
(May 5 — October 14) | Aquarius
We are already in this, have been for a while, but we’ll REvisit (like what I did there? Retrograde and RE words) because it's about to compound with what's to come.
Pluto, god of the underworld.
This is where it all begins. The depth.
Pluto retrograde is a revisit to your depths. A check-in with your personal power.
✨ Where are you overgiving? Where are you giving away your power?
✨ Where are you undergiving? Where are you holding power over others?
✨ Where are you still hiding in the dark? What wants to come into the light?
Pluto governs:
🌑 transformation
🌑 death & rebirth
🌑 power & control
🌑 the unconscious shadow
🌑 taboo & primal desires
When Pluto turns inward, so do you.
You can’t lie to yourself anymore about who you are, or what you want.
Your deepest, darkest desires, the ones you thought you couldn’t even admit to yourself, start whispering louder.
It’s a bit sexy, a bit scary, and exactly what your sovereignty needs.
To put it in a sentence:
✨ Pluto retrograde isn’t here to destroy you. It’s here to show you what’s already been buried alive, so you can dig it up and make it gold.
📖 Textbook Pluto Retrograde:
Shadow work — integrating power + control issues.
Resurfacing obsessions, jealousy, fear, taboo desires.
Reclaiming sovereignty + personal power.
Death of illusions — so rebirth can begin.
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Pluto in my 2nd house (values, money, self-worth)
The power I’ve given to external validation is coming home to me.
🌊 Neptune Retrograde: Becoming the Bridge
(July 5 — December 10) | Aries → Pisces
Neptune is spirituality. Dreams. Intuition. Illusion. Fog. Dissolving what you thought was real. And when retrograde? The fog clears just enough to show you the sacred beneath the surface.
On the surface, Neptune retrograde can feel like:
☁️ foggy thinking
☁️ escapism rising
☁️ confusion about what’s “real”
But underneath?
✨ Realignment with your inner knowing
✨ Strengthening your intuition, not just your intellect
✨ Becoming the bridge between worlds: reality & dreamland
It’s a time to:
✨ recalibrate your spiritual practice
✨ confront denial and delusion
✨ strengthen your connection to your inner guidance
✨ heal psychic wounds you didn’t even know you still carried
We’re becoming the bridge between reality and the dreamland.
Because the future all these planets are whispering about?
It’s more intuitive. More spiritual. More awake.
And you can’t rush forward into that new world (Aries) without integrating the deep soul lessons of the ocean you came from (Pisces).
This retrograde whispers: how are you showing up as the dreamwalker you came here to be?
Not for escapism, but for vision. It dissolves the mirage, so you can finally see what’s sacred.
While Neptune direct is the dream itself, Neptune retrograde is when the curtain lifts, pretty illusions are stripped back and you see the dream for what it is, flawed but full of potential if worked honestly.
📖 Textbook Neptune Retrograde:
Reality checks: illusions and deception become visible.
Less collective dream-chasing, more quiet inner connection.
Escapist tendencies (substances, overwork, denial) come to light.
Spiritual practices deepen or shift in surprising ways.
Emotional & psychic healing as old wounds resurface.
Disappointment or disillusionment may come, but clears the way for real integrity.
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Neptune retrogrades in my 4th (home/family) → 3rd (voice/siblings)
The illusions I’ve carried about “home” and what family should be are dissolving, so I can speak my truth — even if it’s messy.
🪞 Mercury Retrograde: Soul Voice over Noise
July 18 – August 11 | Leo
(Shadow: June 30 – August 25)
Ahh, Mercury retrograde. Everyone’s favourite scapegoat. But it’s not just about your emails going missing and your phone freezing. It’s about your voice.
Mercury rules:
🪞 thoughts + perception
📝 communication + expression
🗺️ travel + connection
And when retrograde?
🌱 turn inward, review, reframe, realign
🌱 reconnect with our inner voice before broadcasting outward
🌱 untangle miscommunications and hidden truths
🌱 self-reflect about your mental habits & patterns
And ask:
✨ Are you saying what you really mean?
✨ Are you speaking from your soul, or just echoing what others expect?
✨ Are you listening as much as you’re talking?
✨ What stories do you keep repeating to yourself?
✨ What truths do you avoid saying out loud?
And yes, people from the past might slide back into your DMs.
Not necessarily because they belong in your future, but because Mercury governs messages, as psychopomp bridging the living and the dead, the present and the past. And sometimes the message they carry is about a pattern you need to break, a story you need to stop telling yourself.
It can feel disruptive, but it’s not chaos for chaos’ sake. It’s your chance to pause and actually hear yourself think. It’s about crossing the veil to hear what your inner messenger is actually saying, so you can speak your soul truth when the time is right.
📖 Textbook Mercury Retrograde:
Miscommunications + mixed signals
Travel delays + tech hiccups
People from the past resurfacing (not always for good!)
Mental fog, but also insight if you listen
Perfect for journalling, editing, reflecting. Not launching
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Mercury in my 8th (intimacy, taboo, death/rebirth)
Those things I’ve kept unsaid in shadow spaces… it’s time to listen to what my soul really wants to say there.
🪷 Saturn Retrograde: Architect of Your Own Life
July 13 – November 28 | Aries → Pisces
Saturn is structure. Foundations. Discipline. Boundaries. Karma. Father Time himself, asking: are you building something that lasts?
When retrograde, Saturn asks you to reassess your inner scaffolding.
✨ Are your boundaries aligned with your soul?
✨ Are you showing up as the leader of your own life?
✨ Are you playing the long game or burning yourself out?
It’s not just about working harder — it’s about working wiser.
Clearing karmic patterns. Reclaiming self-authority.
Committing to your legacy in a way that’s sustainable.
Saturn retrograde reminds us to be the architect of our own life — and to make sure the inner scaffolding can truly hold what we’re here to build.
📖 Textbook Saturn Retrograde:
Karmic patterns — old patterns, responsibilities, or debts (spiritual or otherwise) that need clearing or re-commitment.
Authority figures & power dynamics — shows where we’ve over- or under-given our power to external authority, and asks us to reclaim self-authority.
Mastery over time — reflecting on how we use and experience time — rushing? resisting? wasting?
Legacy & long game — slow down and make sure our work is sustainable and meaningful.
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Saturn in my 4th → 3rd
Rebuilding the foundations of how I feel safe — and leading my own story instead of letting old family patterns lead me.
🌱 Chiron Retrograde: The Wound as Teacher
July 31 – January 3 | Aries
Oh, Chiron. The wounded healer. Represents:
🗝️ our deepest wounds - the kind we can’t fully “fix”
🪞 the pain that shapes us - and gives us wisdom to help others
🌱 the ongoing journey of healing - through acceptance and integration
When direct, Chiron shows us the external ways we experience the wound, often through relationships, rejection, shame, “why does this keep happening to me?”
When retrograde, Chiron:
🌑 turns that focus inward
🌑 strips away distractions & coping mechanisms
🌑 asks us to sit with the parts of us we’ve disowned
🌑 reveals new layers of our gift hidden in our pain
This is shadow work in its purest form. It holds a mirror up to:
✨ The parts of you you thought were healed, but still ache.
✨ The parts of you you’ve disowned, but hold your wisdom.
✨ The parts of you you’ve judged, but make you whole.
When retrograde, Chiron asks you to stop running. Stop numbing. Sit with your wounds and finally see the gift they’ve been trying to give you all along.
Chiron retrograde doesn’t reopen your wounds to hurt you — it does it to show you the gift you’ve been too afraid to claim.
📖 Textbook Chiron Retrograde:
Wounds you thought healed may reopen with deeper layers to work through.
Inner child & shame themes resurface.
New awareness of how your pain shaped your gifts. You may uncover your capacity to heal others through your own story.
It can bring through new modalities of healing or deeper insight into how to actually tend to those wounds. Not necessarily to “fix” them once and for all but to integrate and accept them as part of your medicine.
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Chiron in my 4th
The part of me that still feels like “home” isn’t safe is showing me how to mother myself differently now.
⚡ Uranus Retrograde: The Inner Revolution
September 6 – February 4 | Gemini → Taurus
Uranus. The Great Awakener.
Rebellion. Freedom. Innovation. Sudden change.
It’s Alchemy, the ability to turn shit into gold. The breakdown for breakthrough.
When retrograde, Uranus doesn’t necessarily shock you from the outside. It wakes you up from the inside.
✨ Where have you gotten too comfortable?
✨ Where are you still clinging to the cage instead of opening the door?
✨ Where are you afraid of your own freedom?
By the time Uranus retrograde arrives, you’ve already experienced shakeups this year.
Now it’s time to review what stays and what goes.
If you feel uncomfortable right now, good. Discomfort is the teacher that shows you where you’ve outgrown yourself. Uranus retrograde asks you to listen to that discomfort and get ready to rise higher.
You’re no longer able to ignore where your soul craves evolution.
You’re no longer able to pretend the old boxes fit.
You may feel called to leave situations, mindsets, or dynamics that once felt safe but now feel like cages. It’s time to realign to your inner rebel and future self.
📖 Textbook Uranus Retrograde:
Restlessness, discomfort, rebellion when you realise how much you’ve compromised your freedom.
Internal breakthroughs, aha moments about what you really want from life…and what’s holding you back.
Opportunities to experiment and redefine what liberation really looks like for you.
Review what stays & what goes from recent shakeups.
Reminder: liberation doesn’t always feel safe at first.
What does this mean in real life?
💫 My chart: Uranus in my 6th → 5th.
The way I work, heal, and serve is shaking up, so I can find more joy, more creativity, and more freedom to actually live.
✨ The Descent. The Dream. The Voice. The Foundation. The Wound. The Revolution.
Retrograde season is here.
This is the season to go slow. To listen.
To let the retrogrades strip you down and show you what’s real, so you can rise again, aligned.
Messy. Sovereign. Holy.
Just the way you like it.
Retrograde season is where the excuses die and the magic begins.
You can either let it steamroll you and be a victim of fate… or you can meet it like the sovereign you are and be the master of your own destiny!
If you want a no-fluff, astrologically-accurate, deeply intuitive take on your personal retrograde season book your 🌙 Soul Weather Report.
I’ll tell you what’s really going on, and how to work with it instead of against it.
Stay magic,
Tayla x
